Maple Candied Bacon

Maple candied bacon is the ultimate indulgence - crispy, smoky, salty bacon coated in a sweet, candied maple glaze. A heavenly blend of savory and sweet.

Maple Candied Bacon

(yields 12 servings)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound thick cut bacon

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions

  1. Place the bacon on a wire rack on a foil lined baking pan, brush the top of the bacon with maple syrup and sprinkle on some brown sugar.

  2. Bake in a preheated 400F/200C oven for 15 minutes, flip the bacon, brush with maple syrup and sprinkle on the brown sugar and bake for another 15 minutes or until it reaches the desired level of crispiness.

Notes

  • To add a bit of heat, add 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper & 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger to the brown sugar. This is also called millionaire’s bacon. It’s a little bit spicy, a little bit sweet, a little bit sticky and a whole lotta addictive.
