Maple Balsamic Glazed Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/3 cup Meridan Hill Maple Farm Organic Maple Syrup

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or 1/2 tsp dried)

  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra richness)

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven safe skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Sear chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

Step 2: Make the Maple Balsamic Glaze

  1. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  2. Pour in the balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard, stirring well.

  3. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly. Stir in fresh thyme.

Step 3: Bake the Chicken

  1. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating each piece with the glaze.

  2. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

  3. (Optional) Stir in butter for a silkier sauce.

  1. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
