Crispy maple and brown sugar candied bacon is the perfect combination of sweet, salty & savory!

Although the cleanup is a bit messy, this candied bacon is fairly easy to make. It is baked in the oven and basted with maple syrup and brown sugar. The maple syrup and brown sugar melt and caramelize to form a sticky candied coating around the crispy bacon. If you want to give it a bit of a kick, add 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper and 1/4 tsp ground ginger to the brown sugar before cooking and it results in a sweet and spicy treat that is simply irresistible. It is also referred to as Millionaire’s Bacon, because it’s just that good! Give it a try, you won’t be sorry!
